Shrimp only have an innate, so-called primitive immune system. This means that itcannot“learn” over time and has to defend itself again and again against the same “attackers”. So if an infection with a certain opponent has survived, he can attack again, the immune system of the shrimp does not recognize him and the fight starts all over again.
